bud light — here we go

while bud light was seeking a new agency, we had a chance to present ideas for the brand’s superbowl 2012 spot. capitalizing on the then-decades-old tagline ‘here we go,’ we pitched a winning idea about a rescue dog named weego that could liven up any party. the spot went on to be a gameday favorite, per usa today’s poll. we drove weego’s fans to bud light’s facebook page, where ‘likes’ raised money for ARF (The Animal Rescue Foundation). bud light earned 100,000 new followers in less than a week, ARF got $250,000, and I got to spend a lot of time with a very cute dog. plus, the project helped mcgarrybowen land the bud light account.

voted #2 in facebook and usa today’s online poll. voted #5 on usa today’s ad meter. positive press included a 3.5/4 star review from adweek. going on a decade later, the spot sits at #5 on usa today’s ad meter list of ‘the 25 best superbowl commercials of all time.’
